Green mountain diapers is a website that sells different types of diapers, prefolds, covers etc.
The diapers I own from them are three Flip covers and 2 sets of Cloth-eez Birdseye Flats.
I had been interested in flats and covers for a while so I knew I wanted to purchase these specific flats from Green Mountain! They have been the only recommended flat I have seen or been personally recommended.
They have become one of my favorite types of diapers but they are for sure not for everyone. They take a little more time to get onto baby but they absorb SO much!
These flats and covers are more specifically my favorite diapers for first thing in the morning! I love these most at this time because he’s still a little tired and that gives me the time to get them on him!
Since he’s almost always trying to roll or crawl away, I use the relaxing time in the day or the morning to put him in flats and covers.
The covers are extremely cute and extremely fitting! I’ve never felt I was really having to stretch them around him or that they weren’t true to size.
The material of the covers is so easy to wipe down that I’m able to reuse the covers multiple times if there’s no mess!
They are so big that I can add another cotton insert for more absorption and the fit is still the same. It never looks bulky!
While I wish they had double gussets, I find sometimes they last even longer that my double gusset covers! And never get compression leaks.
The flats are huge! So I’m able to fold the flats in the pattern I find works best for my son, which is the origami fold!
Since he is a heavy wetter I’m able to center as much cloth that I can into the center. Another plus is since the flat is completely covered and there is no absorption leaking from fabric on the cover, the flat can last so much longer and fully soak.
For instance, a pocket or AIO have fabric that absorbs sewn into the very edge of the diaper, whereas the covers trap the wetness. This allows the whole cotton flat to wet before needing a change. Which for having a boy, is amazing!
The last reason why I love these diapers is the price. Flats and covers are the cheapest way to get the biggest stash. While other diapers hold the wetness, Flip covers don’t, so you can use them over and over!
They flats themselves on Green Mountain Diapers are 6 for around $12! That’s $2 and some change per diaper! And the Flip covers range from $11-13! This mean you could get a three day stash for as little as $70! That’s a yes for me!
The website carries so many different brands and types of diapers I highly recommend a look! Even if flats and covers aren’t your thing!
It can always be overwhelming if you’ve never bought cloth diapers or are new to it! So go check out my previous blog about how to cloth diaper and try to decide what type of diaper would work best for you and baby!
